Residents Participate in Friendly Competition

Residents of Wellington Bay proudly took part in one of their favorite annual traditions: the Senior Olympic Games. Launched by Liberty Senior Living in 2018 for its independent living communities, the Games are designed to stimulate movement, mental engagement, and meaningful connections. This year we introduced ALympics for Lisbet at Wellington Bay assisted living residents.

Held during Active Aging Week, Wellington Bay’s Olympic Games welcomed 51 residents who competed in a total of 20 different events including Yarts, races and shot put. Beyond the events themselves, the Games foster a strong sense of community as residents participate together and rally in support of one another.

Top competitors advanced to the corporate Liberty Games at Hayes Barton Place in Raleigh in March, where they reconnected with residents from sister communities.
